Zumbro Falls Building Permit Information

Building permits should be applied for through the responsible jurisdiction based on property address. Building permit review and issuance normally takes 10 to 14 working days. The applicant should pay all fees (including MN state surcharges) prior to being issued a permit and before starting construction unless limited notice is given.

Please note:

• All structures (except storage buildings 200 sq. ft. or less) require a building permit. 
• Fences not over 7ft. high do not require a building permit.
• Electrical permits and electrical inspections must be arranged through the Minnesota state electrical inspector.
• All building and plumbing contractors must be licensed through the State of Minnesota.

At this time, you may apply online for the following building permits (click the link to start the application):

• Plan Reviewed Permit Application which will include a site plan showing dimensions of all property boundaries and building locations (Deck, Garage, Shed, Home Addition).
• Over the Counter and Other Flat Fee Permit Application
  • Maintenance Permit Application (Re-roofing, Residing, Window Replacement, AC/Furnace, Hot Water Heater). 
  • Non-Maintenance Flat Fee Permit Application (Manufactured Home, Demolition, New Fireplace, Changing Home Energy Source)
