Frozen water services have been reported to the City over the last couple of weeks. Frost levels have been reported as deep as 61 inches.  A frozen water service repair cost can run upwards of several thousand dollars due to the overwhelming demand for service. The City of Zumbro Falls is asking customers to please take the temperature of your water over the next several weeks. If the temperature falls 38 degrees Fahrenheit or lower, you should turn your water on immediately to a pencil lead width sized stream of water. Also, please put a note in your water billing statement to inform us that you will be running your water. Adjustment will then be made to your bill accordingly.

Also, please don’t shut your water off when the temps become warmer. As it warms, the frost line pushes deeper into the ground before it dissolves.
